The whole point of apprenticeship was for you one day to become a rabbi yourself. The hope was that after a few years and the programme whatever, if you made the cut, your rabbi would say something like, all right, kid, i believe in you. Go and make disciples. To follow jesus is to apprentice under jesus the rabbi. What does that mean exactly? Well, it means that you order your life around the exact same three goals.
