The Dangers of an Appendix Burst

Your appendix is a worm-like thing that sticks out from the end of your seacum. In some animals it's very large in us it's much smaller and we wonder if it's a bit vestigial. It may have a role perhaps earlier on in life in helping us build the right sort of immune response to tolerate the right kind of microbes. Sometimes stuff can get stuck in the appendix which gets worse and worse and worsens. This can cause an abscess where there's pus and infective organisms and an inflammatory response. And this can sometimes burst out through the layer that covers the gut inside you, polluting your peritoneal cavity.
