Enron and the California Energy Market
Enron made $9 billion from California utility customers in the space of about a year and a half, which is criminal on its face. They would actually export energy to nearby states so Nevada or Oregon. The other way that they raised the prices though, it sounded like they really just had inside relationships with operators of power plants.
