The idea of evidentiality stood out to me so much, and was such a useful way for framing things in my head. It really clarified a lot. So you get into that a lot more in chapter two, talking about how archives rely on evidentiality, authenticity, and truth as these ideas that we take for granted about them. But broadly speaking I'm thinking about how ideas about what constitutes evidence arise in parallel with imperial systems at the 19th century. And because evidence is about power and who gets to wield power, who gets desired, what is real and true and what's not, archives have become this technology of power and archivists,. where they consciously or subconsciously
