The Importance of AVX Instructions in Performance
Every time that you have, you make a change that has the performance positive impact. Compound interest is one of those things that as humans, it's just hard to consider that 4% per period adds up to ridiculous improvements. But when you're doing all of that in order N, in tight loops, you're getting benefits from your own work. So, it's the combination of your own algorithms improving, plus silicon improving, plus.NET and it all adds up into compound interest, that means performance for everybody.
