Do You Feel Like You're Raised to Be Independent?
"I did little Montessori things with them, and I hope that I wasn't a parent that was always on top of them," she says. "When you work a lot with small children, so on the skill that it's feeling of a little help is being that you're so completely dependent on you, it has a very frightening side to it." She asks her daughters if they are independent: "Do you think that I ... raise you to be independent? Because that's what people often said to me... And my oldest daughter said, well, at school, I learned to be independent". The book comes out in paperback this month from Simon & Schuster.
