We've increased per pupil education expenditures in the United States by about 152 percent after adjusting for inflation. Have the scores gotten 152 percent better? Obviously not. And we talk a lot about how this is like the teachers union versus the kids union, but the current system sucks for teachers too. I mean, over the same period that they increase per student spending by 152 percent, teacher salaries only went up by about 8 percent in real terms.
