The Inner Darkness of Cassie
I feel like the interior conversations that she is having with herself when she is at her lowest moments are very recognizable and also something that you don't often hear vocalized, especially in day to day life or rendered this well in fiction. There's something vulnerable about putting that stuff down on the page. I think for the readers for whom it is for, it comes as a relief. The only people who aren't going to get this are Republicans. But I don't know what it is.
