Is There a Strong Field Regime in General Relativity?
The right way of thinking about this is in terms of tidal forces. So where is it in general relativity that you're going to have bodies that are sort of getting pulled apart by gravitational effects? I mean, that's perfectly clear how that works in general relativity. That's measured by curvature. Now, there are issues with thinking about curvature as a scale because curvature is a tensor. It's coordinate dependent. You can have disagreements about what a curvature is.
