The Idiots Fortune

The book presents that to us as if it's a truism, but is it? There's a kind of a folk tale that's the idiots fortune. The eldest child who's very competent goes off of the world meets with some terrible end. And then the third child comes along and he's an idiot. He succeeds because of luck or he succeeds because he takes the world in a completely different way.
