The Political Consensus on Homelessness

There is good evidence, and the consensus of opinion is that criminalizing homelessness doesn't work. It doesn't reduce homelessness, right? It doesn't get people off the streets. All it does is break the tie between people who are homeless and the support structure that they need. That's the scientific evidence. You know, and so that is actually a scientific statement. And oftentimes we even say, should we talk about this? And my question is always what's the scientific angle? What's the critical thinking angle? As long as there is something to talk about that has to do with logic or evidence, then we can discuss it.
