CHAPTER

The Hypocritical Definition of Love

Melissa Harris-Perry's new book, "The Power of Love," is about the relationship between God and those who disagree with him or her. She argues that if love has no buts, then she shouldn't want to change people in a way that would make it seem like she doesn't love them. Perry: If you look at Jesus, he loves everyone and part of his love expresses itself through his justice. Those things are not in conflict. They're not parts. And so for her to say, you can't, if you say you love me and you want to change me, you don't love me.
