The Importance of War in Modern International Order
The Gramshian, it's the interregnum where the old can't die, but the new cannot be born. And where does war fit into it? Because obviously one of the ways that orders have been cemented in the past has been through war. It does the fact that we have nuclear weapons now and that you can't really imagine a kind of war between great powers mean that is why this order is more part of our lives? I don't think so, I think historically, you know, I mean, at least to the world orders that I studied they are created by conquest.
