A New Start Up Sound for Windows 95

Robert frip is the guitarist and founding member of the british progue rock band king crimso he's also a long time collaborator with bryan enomicrosoft asked frip to help create the start up sound for window's vista. So he spent two days in the studio with the microsot team recording a series of sound scapes with his guitar. Altogether, frip recorded six hours of raw tape, then micrsoft took these recordings and brought in other artists who cut them down and added even more layers. In the end, they had a new start up sound.
