How Did You Make That Connection?

There's lots of evidence toward the reliability of the text and the reliability of what was written. How did you make the connection from that to it actually having authority over you? Well, the fact is that the bible claims to have that authority. And so if the historical facts and documents are true, then i have to also give the bible what it demands of me. I'm forced into what a wesleyan would probably call a crisis of faith. Am i going to decide to follow or am i going to reject this? It's almost like it puts you at a point where you have to deny the intellectual and historical reasons for believing in christ in order to deny the spiritual reasons for believing
