The Role of Deterrence in the Arms Race
Deterrence fails as game theory. The only reason it works is because everybody is equally horrified about where we're going, and it sort of agrees to play by these rules of the game. It can't be emphasized enough how rapidly China is building up its nuclear arsenal right now. So are the Chinese going to adopt the new Russian model of we battle nuclear weapons in order to project our power and invade other things?
