The Importance of Predicting MTP
There's no hard and fast rule. Nobody has come up with a excellent pre-hospital way of activating for blood, whether it's an MTP or simply calling for a couple of units. So we're left with combining the best available evidence, and that remains some degree of Gestalt, some degree of structured scores, and some degree of those other pitfall conditions. And if you call back your blood just from pneumothorax, then you can certainly identify that it's all over but definitely overcalling is not ideal.
