Futhark is an array functional array languages that are definitely Futhark is targeting accelerated compute. We have built this accelerator back-end as kind of a prototype just to make sure that like we're not wrong that it can be targeted to accelerators. But at the same time, generating really good accelerator code in all cases is very, very difficult. And so we decided to basically exclude that aslike an overhead on the implementation of the new language features that we want to try out.
