The Democratic Party's Recession

After Obama's triumph in 2008, the Democratic Party just don't work out as you might have expected. The party then actually becomes a party that is better at presidential elections. But if you look at the midterm elections in between, so the 2010 and then the 2014, Democrats perform really poorly. And this obviously stymies Obama as a reforming president. One can wonder how reform is he actually intended to be.
