The Importance of a Lower Exchange Rate

A falling exchange rate can make British companies more competitive abroad. Roger Butel would like us to keep the value of the pound low in order to stimulate British industry. It's only a certain sort of carder of people in Britain, both discussed as Tumbrid Wills and some economists who should know better, who seem to think that exchange rates don't matter for economic performance. We've got a serious dichotomy between the attractions of British financial assets and the efficiency of British financial markets on the one hand.
