The Supreme Court Spends About 40% of Its Time on Gay Weddings

The Supreme Court spends about 40% of its time on gay wedding cases. Why do these cases always involve weddings? Justice Alito is super down for the principle that same-sex weddings are different, i.e. it's okay to discriminate against them and LGBT people in a way that's different from other forms of invidious discrimination. I don't think there is much support other than Justice Alito on the court for this principle.
