Is There an Alternative to Syntactic Analysis in Language Processing?
Theories that people do rich word-by-word syntactic analysis as they are listening to or reading language have been widely supported by many different studies. Some critiques started emerging of this approach, which I think is important valuable insights, but might also potentially overestimate the effects of syntax on the vectors we obtain. And thirdly, the memory resources in question are the main general. That's not necessarily our position, but we've sketched it out as a majority position if there is one in language sciences.
