Military and Corporate Supply Chains

i work with the corporate world in supply train efficiency design. The military is very different. Number one priority is what they call preparedness. What you want to do is unitize as far down the supply chain as you can. You want palatized products all the way down. That's how you gain efficiency. We had a research project with the department of army here at virginia tech years ago to, quote, harden the wood palate. To that end, we developed a procedure of treating wood palate so that they could be easily decontaminated of these weapons future.
