Is There a Consensus for LNG?
The Pacific Northwest LNG project, $36 billion, was all but ready to go on the Northwest coast of BC. Malaysia, which owns Petronas, that was a proponent, they wanted it because their dependence on coal was growing, not shrinking. Pakistan has now quadruple its domestic coal fire capacity. Canada could be part of it. And we're taking ourselves out of it. That is not environmentally sound.
