The 5th Myth of ABA
The more you can be aware of what your kids are doing, at the moment they're doing it and how you react to it, that's really the first step to being able to change their behavior. When my kid was born 11 years ago, I had already been really well trained by working with kids with autism for four or five years before he was born. And so I was aware of much of his behavior, not all of it. It's too much work. We do them all flat and automatic pilot. The causes don't come from within the kid. They come from in the kid's environment. That can include parents or siblings or other relatives or teachers or friends.
