The Machine Metaphor for the Psyche

Herbert Trafus was a Hidogarian philosopher who wrote really well in the 80s and 90s. He argued that if computers are ever going to become aware, it has to look a lot more like how a baby becomes aware. And as an existentialist, he was very concerned with how we start to treat ourselves as machines. The weird thing is it's not so much the machines have become more like us, but we become more like them.
