The Problem With the Sect Mindset

This essay was written the year I was born, which is shocking to me. It just makes you think that many of these issues that were confronted with day aren't as new as we might imagine. We can say that the left today seems to be pretty well capable of mobilizing large numbers of people and getting them into the street for short term protests. But we seem to have no real way of converting this energy, this protest energy into a kind of a long-term sustained project.
