Ikata's Tesise, or Low Posture, Is an Explicit Contrast to Kishi's High Posture

Ikata's low posture was intended as an explicit contrast with kishi's high posture. He restored a bi partisan practice which allowed members of opposition parties, including the socialists, to chair some of the various legislative committees in the diet. Ekata was also willing to kill bills the socialists deeply opposed,. most notably a law advan by members of his party in the spring of 19 61 that was intended to outlaw political violence.
