Do Not Tell Me These Haggard Faces Could Be to You or Me

We've been talking about refugees today in one form or another and we thought we'd end with a poem. Do not tell me these haggard faces could belong to you or me, should life have dealt a different hand. Chances and scroungers, layabouts and loungers, with bombs up their sleeves, cutthroats and thieves, they're not welcome here. They cannot share our food, share our homes, share our countries, instead let us build the wall to keep them out. These are people just like us. We should make them welcome here.
