The Economics of Knowledge

Austrian economics is known for its emphasis on the knowledge aspect of economic activity. In his 1945 paper, The Use of Knowledge in Society, Friedrich Hayek talks about markets as a way to get at this information. He argues that prices both capture and communicate context-specific information efficiently.
