Gaia: Companies want us to spend as much time online so they can collect our data and target advertising. But many of the platforms that you describe come at no or very little cost to the consumer. And I'm wondering, would changing the business model necessarily put the onus on the consumer to try to protect him or herself? That would then in turn require that person to pay for a service if they want to try to gain control.
