Mallory's Pseudo-Historical Story of Arthur

Geoffery writes in Latin, gets translated into French by Wace and into English by Lacherman. That story then gets retold in English as the literative Maut Arthur. And that is one of Mallory's chief sources for, as it happens, only one section of the book. The other part, which flowers in France from the late 12th century and the early 13th century, is the romance. So, what Mallory did then was try and combine, try and just glue together the pseudo-historical story of Arthur who almost defeats the Roman Empire with the romance tradition.
