There's more jobs and more types of jobs now than there were 50 years ago. As the harvard economist lawrence cats has said, people as people have always been able to create new jobs. Is mark andreason, the person who invented the a web browser, said, just as most of us to day have jobs that woren't invented a hundred years ago, the same will be true a hundred years from now.
Technology might move fast but the fears surrounding it remain ever-present. Back in 2015 Intelligence Squared gathered both tech evangelists and technology naysayers to debate how robots and AI might swallow up jobs in years to come. The speakers included economist, commentator and author George Magnus, internet entrepreneur and author Andrew Keen, technology entrepreneur, presidential advisor and economist Dr Pippa Malmgren, and author and journalist Walter Isaacson.
