The Effects of Abuse on the Brain

The brains of children raised in violent families resemble the brains of soldiers that are exposed to combat. A very similar neutral signature characterizes quite a few anxiety disorders. The problem with anxiety and depression is if you're coming out of abusive childhood you've got to treat the child abuse first and change that dialogue before you can treat the depression and anxiety.
