Is There a Secret to Making a Habit?

Research suggests that it takes roughly 21 days three weeks to form a new habit when you purposefully and actively try to do it after the 20th. It's not just listing off a load of checklists and capabilities it's what deconstructing almost the skills you need to be able to achieve that goal. You can't purposefully form lots of habits at once we don't have the bandwidth but you can purposely form one or two habits at a time and set in that time to practice making sure that when you are practicing that habit you're doing it in a good environment i.e. turn off slack notifications if people still have email they've turned that off too and your phone is off.
