The Marian Psalter: A Prayer for the Lady

The Rosary is a prayer for lay faithful Catholics, and it has a place in their daily life. The Marian Psalter was a way of joining in the universal prayer of the church but for people who couldn't read. It's not clear that the Rosary came down as if from heaven or exactly that way. But what we do know is that Saint Dominic had a great love for the Blessed Virgin. We're the first religious order in the history of the church to profess our vows to the Blessed Mother.
