Is There a Middle Ground?

Haison: Is there no middle ground? Or aren't they compatible to some extent? I think there's a continuum of ways of doing the history of ideas, if we can call it that. The extreme version er is what you talk about as as the method of the cambridge school which is sometimes practised in a more extreme way than others. And i'm not so sure that, at least to my untrained eye and ear, they're all that different from what they have to say. But perhaps i'm missing something.
