Hacking's Looping Effect on the Human Condition
The looping effect is possible in human classifications, but it's not necessarily there all the time. It's essential that the woman refugee knows that she's a woman refugee and be affected by that. But I think she could still be categorized that way and not even know it. She can construct the category for herself using the cues from the environment.
