Children with discalcula and those with comorbid developmental discalculand dislexia take a reaction time hit when it comes to comparing two numbers on the basis of their quantitis o which one is umerically arg. It takes them much longer to really retrieve those quantities and compare them to one another than is the case for the group of dislexia and the control group, without any learning difficulties. The implication here is that discalcul is associated with difficultis in processing the meaning of number, and therefore the risk of discarcula can be screamed before children learn arithmetic.
