Exploring Son Clave Rhythm in Music Education

This chapter delves into a project inspired by the book 'Realizing Diversity and Equity Framework for Music Education,' where teachers implemented a music culture project focusing on the Son Clave rhythm from Ghana. They reflected on planning and lessons, discussed a lesson unit called 'Rhythm Around the World,' explored folk songs from Ghana, taught students about beat versus rhythm using the son clave rhythm, engaged students through Nearpod activities, and highlighted the historical and cultural significance of the son clave rhythm in different music genres.
