In some ways, it reminds me kind of like this idea that, and we use this quite a lot in mindfulness based cognitive therapy. All of our uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and sensations are like a person knocking on your front door, and we invite them in. And when we can see them, we get a much greater sense of how to work with them.
