The Swedish Company Reocean Is Developing a Large Salmon Farm in Sefla
Sweden is one of the top consumers of salmon in Europe. But less than 1% of this salmon actually comes from Sweden. A Swedish company, Reocean, wants to change that by developing the country's first large salmon farm at Sefla. The salmon will be found in a fully controlled environment that mimics natural growing conditions. By 2026, the company aims to produce around 10,000 tons of salmon per year which translates to one fifth of all salmon consumed in Sweden.
