Is Dark Energy a Mysterious Energy?

The name comes from two words, dark and energy. And it's dark because you can't see it, right? It's not like the universe is glowing from this energy. Daniel: Do you think they named it dark energy just for that it's mysterious sounding name? Not because it's invisible to the visible light? I think so.
