Aristotle, the Natural Philosopher
Aristotle sees himself as the natural philosopher of his course. He very much wants to sort of prove his maxim that nature does nothing in vain. If you want to be a scientist, you've got to be interested in this world. What Aristotle does is he takes theory and observation, he puts them together and makes science.
