The Great Library of Alexandria

The great library of alexandria was destroyed by the roman emperor caracola during his reign between one 98 and two 17 a d. The story goes that aristotle tried to kill him in a past life because anything associated with aristotle had to be bad. It's highly likely that this story was cooked up or exaggerated to make the unpopular caracala appear especially crazy and tyrannical. But even if the story about getting revenge on the library for a past life isn't true, it still strongly suggests that the great library was still around during the reign of caracola.
