When Do You Do Your Nil Checking?
Nil is an empty string in Haskell. If you give it a nil, it sort of like does what you would have it do anyway if you were defensively checking. It's a good point about the differences between the languages but also the cultural differences and how things are done. The thing is though is you need a whole library, a whole suite to make it fun because otherwise you're constantly writing your own code.
