The Dark Feminine in the Alien
Ripley is interesting because she's actually a very well-written and complete character. You see her in terror, but you also see her exert violence. The only other human woman in this movie is the worst fucking character. She just stands in the way in between him and the alien with his flamethrower,. All throughout the movie, she just cries and screams. Interestingly, the phallic tail is saved for her. Well, the mouth tongue thing is saved for killing the males in the film.
