What's Strange About Scurvy?

This week's episode is all about experiments. And what we learn from them, or what we don't learn from them. We're told that james lynde, a royal navy surgeon, proved how to cure scurvy in 17 forty seven. This is nearly two centuries before this race, which is in the early 19 hundreds. But by the time we get to the age of arctic exploration, people have either forgotten, or they no longer believe, the result of jameslin's experiment. That's a puzzle that i wrestle with in the in the episode.
