The First Revolution of the Aristocracy

The first revolution comes from the aristocracy. It's a revolution of the patricians against their kings. This happened in various cities all across Greece and Italy. Every potter was king in his own gens. Even at Rome, it was an ancient custom to call each one of these powerful patrons by the name of king. The kingly office was essentially stripped of its political powers but left with the religious powers.
