The Slave Rebellion in Coro
Mixed race merchant named jose leonardo cirino from the coastal city of coro had sailed to san domengin bac and seen first hand that racial revolution was possible. So terino conspired with another mixed race partner named jose cardidod gonzales to organize their anger and launch a slave rebellion. In early may 17 95, they led hundreds of slaves in a mass uprising outside coro followed the pattern of the early san domang uprising. They destroyed sugar plantations, infa structure and killed any whites they could find. After three days of unchecked rampaging, the army and militias moved in with overwhelming force. A good e hundred men and women were apprehended
